Setting VMX Message Timeout Setting (in General Settings Module) to 0 results in long delay before beep

    Details

      Description

By default, if VMX Locator is enabled, FreePBX waits approximately 2 seconds after playing the outgoing message before playing the beep tone. Presumably, this is to allow the caller time to select option 0, 1, or 2 before the beep starts recording.

The delay time is programmable in the General Settings Module, under Voicemail VMX Locator. The option entitled Msg Timeout, allows you to change the 2 second delay using a pull-down that allow you to set a range from 0 to 15.

However, when you choose 0, the system appears to delay for at least 10 seconds after playing the outgoing message and before beeping.

This appears to be a bug.

I'm using the latest version of the FreePBX Distro.
