Revisit default setting for pjsip extension direct_media

The default setting for a newly created pjsip extension for direct_media is 'yes' even tho the default asterisk value is 'no'. Does anybody know if this setting was arrived at by some specific request, because for FreePBX, I can't think of any reason why this should be the default condition. I would like to see the default changed, the question is should this be done in 16+ or in 17 as it's a major change.
