Requesting VM Notify changes to user mailbox when active

I'd like to request a feature change when using the commercial VM Notify module. Current design deletes or doesn't give any notification of any messages within a mailbox with VM Notify activated on. The system should NOT remove the message from the voicemail box at all. It should, however, turn off the notification when the message has been accepted by the remote called party, and should remain in the mailbox as an old message as well.
